F.T. Gregory, 1821-1888, and Sir Augustus Gregory, 1819-1905, were both explorers and surveyors. They arrived in Western Australia in 1829 and joined the public service in 1841. After numerous surveys and expeditions, including Sir Augustus' North Australian Expedition, they moved to Queensland, Francis in 1862, and Sir Augustus in 1859.
